Engineering Expertise That Lowers Total Cost

We partner with customers early through value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) to minimize cost, maximize quality and simplify integration of stamped components into your product. This approach includes:

Extensive pre-production planning and APQP analysis.
Dedicated tooling development and in-house maintenance areas.
Modular, interchangeable die components to extend run sizes and reduce downtime.
Sensor-driven quality control (electronic, mechanical, optical, magnetic) plus integrated press monitoring for zero-defect production.
Early DFM (Design for Manufacturability) collaboration to accelerate launch timelines and reduce total program cost.
Lifetime tooling guarantee to lower your long-term costs.
These combined practices enable Stewart EFI to deliver slide forming and four-slide stamping components with exceptional repeatability and faster turnaround. By integrating engineering support with advanced quality controls, we help OEMs streamline production, reduce risk, and bring high-performance parts to market more efficiently.

Driving Efficiency and Accuracy with Bihler Servo Technology

Our servo-driven Bihler multi-slide machines bring a new level of reliability, flexibility, and efficiency to our manufacturing processes. By leveraging integrated servo motor technology, we can precisely control forming slides, wire feeding, and bending operations through programmable systems – providing exceptional accuracy and consistent quality.

Slide Forming FAQs

Four-slide stamping excels at producing small to medium-sized components with multiple bends, intricate forms or integrated features. Typical parts include clips, fasteners, terminals, brackets, spring contacts and housings, components where high repeatability, tight tolerances and material efficiency are critical.

We routinely form standard, specialty and exotic metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, beryllium copper and high-strength alloys, using gauges from approximately .002″ to .120″ (0.05 mm to 3.0 mm). We can also process pre-plated, heat-treated, anodized or inlayed materials to meet your application’s exact requirements.

Slide forming feeds material differently, allowing us to utilize the raw stock edge more efficiently and minimize carrier scrap. By combining multiple bends and operations into one setup, the process maximizes yield per strip and lowers your per-piece cost, especially for high-volume runs.
Yes. Our slide forming machines can perform in-press tapping or threading of holes for screws, as well as automatically attach, stake or weld multiple components during forming. This integration cuts downstream operations, reduces handling and shortens total lead time.

Absolutely. Our engineering team collaborates with OEMs early in the design cycle to optimize parts for manufacturability, cost and assembly. Through value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), APQP planning and modular tooling strategies, we help you achieve quicker launches, lower total cost and long-term quality consistency.
